Change in the reactivity of myosin during muscle contraction.

چکیده
Myosin can be labeled with 1 -fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene in frog muscle. The incorporation into myosin is decreased during isotonic contraction. In contrast no difference is found in the incorporation into the sarcoplasmic proteins of contracting and resting muscle. Myosin also reacts with iodoacetate in frog muscle. However, this reaction does not depend on the functional state of the muscle. The reactivity of myosin in contracting muscle follows a similar pattern in model systems. The dinitrophenyl content of myosin isolated from myofibrils dinitrophenylated in the relaxed state is higher than that of myosin from myofibrils dinitrophenylated while contracting. Incorporation of lfluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene into pure frog myosin is greatly increased in the presence of additions which relax myofibrils as compared to the additions which contract the fibrils. With the same additions, frog actin, or myosin-free myofibrillar residues show no change in the dinitrophenylation. Furthermore, the reactivity of contracting and relaxed myofibrils remains the same when 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene is substituted by iodoacetate. These data show that l-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene is a valuable probe to differentiate the functional states of myosin in myofibrils and living muscle.

Preventive effects of ipratropium and salbutamol against insulin induced tracheal smooth muscle contraction in guinea pig model
Inhalational insulin was withdrawn from the market due to its potential to produce airway hyper-reactivity and bronchoconstriction. So the present study was designed to explore the acute effects of insulin on airway reactivity of guinea pigs and protective effects of salbutamol and ipratropium against insulin induced airway hyper-responsiveness on isolated tracheal smooth muscle of guinea pig. ...
متن کاملChemical changes and shelf-life of conventional surimi and proteins recovered using pH change method from common carp (Cyprinus carpio) muscle during 5 months storage at -18ºC
Chemical changes and shelf-life of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) surimi prepared by conventional washing method and solubilization by acid and alkali processes were investigated during 5 months of storage at -18 °C. Results showed that surimi produced with acid and alkaline solubilization is significantly higher yield than the conventional surimi. Protein solubilization by using acid and alkali...

Background: The transverse abdominis (TrA) muscle is one of the most important muscles that contribute to the stability of the lumbar spine. Strengthening of trunk muscles that have a significant role in trunk stability is very important in the field of professional sport, sport medicine and rehabilitation of patient with low back pain (LBP). Identifying the exercises that can improve the stren...
